Our Philosophy
The early childhood years are formative in developing a child’s
learning potential and ongoing cognitive, physical and emotional
development.
The healthy all-round development of our children is
fostered in our warm, happy, supportive, safe and caring environment.
We believe in the power of both ‘play’ and ‘structured learning’ as being essential and appropriate methods of learning. Children have the opportunity to play, learn, explore and have fun. We believe that if a child chooses their own activity they are self-motivated and therefore more likely to develop their own ideas and complete the task that they have set for themselves.
Children are also encouraged to participate in group structured learning activities which assist in developing social interaction and potential. We believe that children need to do as much for themselves as they can and they will be encouraged to do so. Children learn from their successes and failures and staff are there to ensure this happens in the safest possible way with an acknowledged learning outcome.
We believe that the abilities to communicate and socialise are essential skills for children to develop. We encourage social awareness, self-confidence and a love for learning.
We see ourselves working in collaboration with family/whanau to support their needs and interests and maximise the learning potential of every child. We celebrate the cultural diversity of Aotearoa/New Zealand by promoting the active exploration of different cultures that parents/whanau and their children bring to Central Park Early Learning Centre.
We take pride in our centre and we invite you to find out more about what we offer to help you make the right childcare decision for your child.
